2016 Update

Posted on

The start of 2016 has been incredibly busy with Wedding Converse growing and growing in popularity. I wasn’t expecting quite so many orders to be placed in January and February but it does mean that I’ve reached the next milestone just over a month ahead of where I predicted it would appear…

5,000 pairs!

Those of you who have supported and been following Custom Converse since the early days may remember these:

Banksy 1000th Pair

The 1,000th pair which I kept for myself and designed with a Banksy theme. They’ve had many outings over the past 3 years and are now looking significantly less white!

So when the big 5,000 came into sight I started to plan out what kind of design I would celebrate with. The Banksy pair worked well as I’d enjoyed painting up previous Banksy designs and they’d looked really good too. More recently I’ve had a lot of fun working on the Paint Splatter pairs (even if I do end up freezing cold when working outside on them during the winter months), and there’s something incredibly satisfying about pulling the masking tape off the side of the soles when the shoes are dry. So with Spring just around the corner I decided to mix up some pretty pastel colours and set to work on a Monowhite low top pair. Here is the end result:

5000 Paint Splatter

The other thing to update you on is the addition to the shop of the new Chuck II styles. At the moment I’ve only got them set up for the more popular designs but I will keep adding more up there when I get the chance. Converse are adding new colours to the Chuck II range fairly regularly and the pair pictured below are the Parchment/Stone colour.

The canvas and lace colour is a dark ivory shade with a lighter cream coloured sole and toe. A few Brides-to-be have been taking these along to dress fittings and reported back to say that they’re the perfect match for an ivory dress. I had a quick search round on the internet and as far as I can see Custom Converse are the first place to offer personalised Chuck II’s – once again setting the trend!
